Each of the owl boxes is set up with a motion detection feature to capture and store photos when triggered. The photos are archived in real-time for research purposes. The motion detection feature can turned on/off remotely, and the motion detection featured is turned off when an owl starts roosting and turned back on once the owl leaves. This will help limit the amount of archives stored.
